As lawyers, we’ve been taught to handle stress and anxiety in ways that are hurting us, our families, and our clients. As crazy as it may seem, we may even think we need stress and anxiety to motivate us. And, if you feel this way, you are absolutely not alone.
What was the superpower you always wanted as a kid? I always wanted to be able to fly. But now that I’m a little older and wiser, I’ve honed my very own real-life superpower: Bending time. Yep, that’s right. I’ve figured out how to not only be amazingly productive with my time, I’ve managed to sustain a balanced schedule and life with all the free time I desire to enjoy doing the things I love. And I can tell you from experience: having this superpower is a major key to happiness.
There are 525,600 minutes in a year. How do I know? Well, mostly because the Broadway musical “RENT” has a song that goes, “Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes… how do you measure a year?” 🙂 And it’s a good question, really. How do you determine the value of your time?
